DENPASAR — Dewan Pers mengeluarkan penilaian sementara terhadap media siber balidokumenter.com terkait pengaduan yang diajukan I Putu Sudana Putra atas pemberitaan berjudul “Mantan Residivis di Curigai Obok obok Selter Sunartik” yang tayang pada 5 Februari 2026.
Dalam surat bernomor 693/DP/K/V/2026 tertanggal 20 Mei 2026, Dewan Pers menilai pemberitaan tersebut melanggar sejumlah ketentuan Kode Etik Jurnalistik (KEJ) dan Pedoman Pemberitaan Media Siber.
Pengadu menyebut foto dirinya yang mengenakan pakaian tahanan berwarna oranye dengan tulisan “Tersangka” dimuat tanpa keterkaitan langsung dengan substansi berita. Ia juga menyatakan tidak pernah mendatangi selter hewan milik Sunartik sebagaimana dikaitkan dalam pemberitaan tersebut.
Selain itu, Pengadu menilai berita yang telah tersebar luas itu menimbulkan kerugian materiil maupun immateriil terhadap dirinya.
Setelah melakukan analisis terhadap materi pengaduan dan berita yang diadukan, Dewan Pers menemukan sejumlah pelanggaran etik jurnalistik. Di antaranya, media dinilai memuat berita yang tidak berimbang, tidak faktual, tidak jelas sumbernya, serta tidak melakukan uji informasi secara memadai.
“Berita Teradu memuat foto Pengadu yang tidak memiliki korelasi dengan informasi yang dimuat. Teradu memuat dua kali berita tentang Pengadu tanpa konfirmasi,” tulis Dewan Pers dalam surat tersebut.
Dewan Pers juga menilai pemberitaan itu tidak sesuai dengan Pedoman Pemberitaan Media Siber, khususnya terkait kewajiban verifikasi dan keberimbangan berita yang berpotensi merugikan pihak lain.
Dalam penilaiannya, Dewan Pers mencatat bahwa balidokumenter.com memang telah memuat Hak Jawab dari Pengadu pada 10 Maret 2026 dan klarifikasi lanjutan pada 16 April 2026. Namun, pemuatan Hak Jawab tersebut dinilai belum sesuai aturan karena tidak ditautkan dengan berita awal yang dipermasalahkan.
Selain itu, Dewan Pers menemukan berita utama yang diadukan sudah tidak dapat diakses, tetapi penghapusannya belum disertai penjelasan resmi mengenai alasan pencabutan sebagaimana diatur dalam Pedoman Pemberitaan Media Siber.
Atas dasar itu, Dewan Pers meminta balidokumenter.com untuk:
Membuat penjelasan resmi terkait pencabutan berita pada tautan asli berita yang dihapus, disertai tautan menuju Hak Jawab Pengadu.
Menautkan Hak Jawab pada berita lain yang masih tayang dan berkaitan dengan Pengadu.
Memasang catatan di bagian bawah berita bahwa pemberitaan tersebut telah dinilai melanggar Kode Etik Jurnalistik dan Pedoman Pemberitaan Media Siber.
Dewan Pers juga memberikan tenggat waktu tujuh hari kerja kepada Pengadu dan Teradu untuk memberikan tanggapan atas keputusan tersebut. Bila tidak ada tanggapan dalam batas waktu yang ditentukan, maka kedua pihak dianggap menerima keputusan dan perkara dinyatakan selesai.
Dalam surat itu, Dewan Pers turut menegaskan ancaman hukum bagi perusahaan pers yang mengabaikan Hak Jawab.
“Perusahaan pers yang tidak melayani Hak Jawab bisa dipidana denda sebanyak-banyaknya Rp500.000.000 sebagaimana disebutkan dalam Pasal 18 ayat (2) Undang-Undang Nomor 40 Tahun 1999 tentang Pers,” tegas Dewan Pers.
Tak hanya itu, Dewan Pers juga mengingatkan bahwa wartawan dan perusahaan pers wajib berpedoman pada Undang-Undang Pers, Kode Etik Jurnalistik, serta Pedoman Pemberitaan Media Siber dalam menjalankan aktivitas jurnalistik.
Pemimpin redaksi atau penanggung jawab perusahaan pers pun diingatkan wajib memiliki sertifikat kompetensi Wartawan Utama sesuai ketentuan Dewan Pers tentang Standar Perusahaan Pers dan Standar Kompetensi Wartawan.
